Climate Change Facts

Because of past human activities temperatures have risen. Some land-based ice sheets have started to break up at an increased rate. This cannot now be stopped so that sea-levels will rise. London and, locally, the Somerset levels will be flooded well before the end of the century.Because of current use of fossil fuels climate change threatens such dangers that drastic reductions of energy use are required - 90% cuts are needed now. Not many individuals will be prepared to do this voluntarily. The situation requires legislation and - to ensure a high level of co-operation - fairness.

Seek support from all political parties,
Introduce personal carbon allowances?

According to the UK government’s chief scientist, Sir David King, unless governments take urgent action, global temperatures will rise by an average of 3ºC due to climate change and cause catastrophic damage around the world.
